To provide our members with safe and effective exercise programs, while catering to the athletic minded or reformed "coach potato".

Unlike the traditional gym, we pledge to provide all UBC members a supportive environment and a sense of well being in a family like atmosphere. We also would like to instill a sense of camaraderie.

UBC wants to help you to achieve your fitness goals, whether it be to lose weight, tone, increase core strength, flexibility enhancement, protect yourself/family, or just feel good.

NUTRITION SERVICES

Nearly two-thirds of the U.S. adults are overweight and frustrated with the vicious cycle of yo yo dieting and the complications associated with it. Obesity has even effected our youngsters.  

UBC provides the structure and support for you and your loved ones to break that cycle.  This program encourages the right balance of nutrition for adults and teenagers, and is based on the dietary guideline of the American Diabetes Association. 

We do not use, endorse, or encourage the use of any types of supplements or sports enhancing substances.

 


TRAINING SERVICES

 

Private Training Sessions

Private training sessions consist of one on one interaction between the client and the coach. During this session, the coach can provide a more individualized training program where he/she can detect muscle deficiencies/ imbalances. The coach also provides the client/athlete with proper techniques cues to make sure the client benefits from each workout session.

 

Group Training Sessions

Group training sessions are similar to our private training sessions, our clients will still receive 100% attention from our coaches. Some athletes/clients like to add a competitive component to their workouts by including a few friends.

 

Sports Specific Training

We offer training programs that are tailored to your specific sport. These higher intensity training programs are designed to help the athlete to achieve the next level of performance by improving speed, agility, strength, and power.


TRX Suspension Training

A new way to train!  Builds true functional strength, improves flexibility, balance, and core muscle stability. Uses your own body weight as resistance.

CrossFit

Intermediate level athletes or for the aspiring athlete who has mastered the Boot Camp program and wish a more intense challenge. It focuses on strength, core conditioning, flexibility, agility, plyometrics, power, and speed. After mastering Boot Camp and at the discretion of Urban Boot Camp staff, clients may progress to CrossFit.Please view our future page dedicated to CrossFit training.

MIXED MARTIAL ARTS ACADEMY 

UBC STRIKEFORCE

The academy was founded by Sae Buk Nim, Deneen Raysor,  fourth degree black belt. UBC Strikeforce offers individualized and group training in a blend of martial arts. Classes are designed for adults, children starting at the age of 6, and both parents and children. We offer classes in Tae Kwon Do, self-defense for women and children.

What is the difference between Boot Camp, CrossFit, and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) conditioning?

Boot Camp

CLIENT: Beginners new to physical activity and to the intermediate level. For people who are weekend warriors or who are beginning an exercise and/or weight loss program

FOCUS: Strength, core conditioning, flexibility, weight reduction, and movement required in daily life. After mastering Boot Camp and at the discretion of the Urban Boot Camp Staff, clients may progress to CrossFit

 

CrossFit

CLIENT: Intermediate level athletes or for the aspiring athlete who has mastered the Boot Camp program and wish a more intense challenge.

FOCUS: Strength, core conditioning, flexibility, agility, plyometrics, power, and speed. After mastering Boot Camp and at the discretion of Urban Boot Camp staff, clients may progress to CrossFit.

 

**All new comers to CrossFit are required to successfully complete a two session introductory course prior to beginning CF training.

**Experienced CF athletes are required to demonstrate mastery of basic CF moves prior to participating in any CF session, no exceptions.

 

Mixed Martial Arts Conditioning (MMA)

CLIENT: For the conditioned athlete or for those who have mastered the Boot Camp program and wish an advanced program. Adults who are martial artists or fighters.

FOCUS: Strength, core conditioning, flexibility, explosive power, speed, agility, plyometrics, and movements required to improve athletic performance and decrease body fat percentage.

CLIENT: Great for sports performance enhancement and every day life.

FOCUS: Builds true functional strength, improves flexibility, balance, and core muscle stability. Uses body weight as resistance.

 

Is Urban Boot Camp affordable?

Yes, we offer multiple options from a single session to multiple session packages. There are no long term  contracts. However, it is encouraged to purchase a GOLD package (24 sessions), SILVER (16 sessions) or a BRONZE (8 sessions) package, rather than a drop in fee. Purchasing one of these packages will result in lower cost per class. All packages must be exhausted as stipulated except for extenuating circumstances  accompanied by a physician or at the discretion of Urban Boot Camp. No cash refund will be provided for unused sessions.

We believe that fitness should be affordable. All clients may mix or match comparable priced classes to accommodate their fitness goals. Urban Boot Camp will guarantee the price of these packages for one calendar year. Please refer to the price list for these programs. 

How many days of the week should I participate in physical activity?

It is recommended that you participate a minimum of three days per week to see results. If your schedule is tight, one day is better than none.


I heard that women "bulk up" as a result of resistance training, I don't want to look like a man?

As a result of resistance training, women will acquire increased strength, increase lean body mass and a decrease in body fat or body fat percentage. Men tend to exhibit the same results but with a greater increase in muscle mass due to the male hormone testosterone.

 

Do I need to schedule an appointment in order to participate in Urban Boot Camp classes?

Urban Boot Camp prides itself on providing exceptional service to our clients. Therefore Urban Boot Camp and CrossFit classes are capped at 15 people with the exception of Zumba and Yoga. Classes fill up quickly, therefore it is requested that clients reserve their spot by emailing or calling Urban Boot Camp at least 2 hours before all scheduled classes. Urban Boot Camp does not guarantee that the classes will be open, so please schedule early.

 

Do you recommend any types of supplements or sports enhancement substances?

We are not registered dieticians or medical doctors, we practice what we preach. We do not use, endorse, or encourage the use of any types of supplements or sports enhancing substances. 



 

What results have clients had with Urban Boot Camp

Results may vary, however both our male and female clients, who are dedicated to their health, have gained increased strength, lower body fat percentages, and improved body image.

 

How soon will I see results?

Results will vary depending on the clients’ body type, commitment level, health, ability, and mental drive. Several of our clients have lost up to six pounds within four sessions.  Some of our clients have reached a long term weight loss goal within less than one year when regularly participating in physical activity.  Some members of our MMA conditioning class have dropped up to 7% body fat within three months along with a healthy diet. Can I participate in 2 or more workouts  per day?

We do not recommend working out more than one class in one day due to the risk of over training which may result in injury. We believe in maintaining a moderate to a high intensity level during our classes, therefore more than one Boot Camp, CrossFit, MMA conditioning class, or any other moderate to high intensity class  in one day could result in fatigue and overuse injuries.

If I am under physician care can I participate in Boot Camp activities?

For the safety of our clients, it is highly recommended that physician approval is obtained prior to starting any exercise program. We require a medical clearance from your physician.

Is it safe for my child or teenager to lift weights or participate in Urban Boot Camp activities?

We offer several exercise programs for the child ages 6-12 and Teenagers (ages 13-17). All exercise programs are modified with the child or teenager in mind. For the safety of our children, we do not permit them to participate in adult programs. There is no exception. It is at the discretion of the accompanying parent or guardian to place their teenager (13-17) in either a teen class or an adult class and sign a waiver. As with our adult clients, we require medical clearance. A parent or guardian is required to remain in attendance for clients below the age of 18 when the client is participating in all Urban Boot Camp activities. If a parent or guardian does not remain in attendance, the client below 17, will not be permitted to participate in any Urban Boot Camp activity.


Does Urban Boot Camp offer family packages?

For the convenience of our clients, we offer family packages (a maximum of one child of age 6 or teenager + one adult). Contact us for more details.

 

What happens if I miss class?

It is the responsibility of all clients to notify Urban Boot Camp by either calling or emailing within 12 hours of any cancellation. Failure to do so will result in the forfeit of that session, unless accompanied by a physician's note or at the discretion of Urban Boot Camp. No make–up session will be provided unless that session is cancelled by Urban Boot Camp due to unforeseen circumstances. Urban Boot Camp will reschedule the cancelled class to a day/time that is determined by the staff so not to have an impact on other classes. Please check the website for any cancellations due to inclement weather. Urban Boot Camp will make every effort to cancel the classes and post it on the website in a timely fashion; however we are not responsible for unpredictable weather conditions. It is at the discretion of the client to determine whether to attend classes during inclement weather. In the event that the class is not cancelled by Urban Boot Camp, but the client decides not to attend, the client will forfeit that session. No make–up class will be provided in this instance.

 

Will my personal belonging be safe while participating in Urban Boot Camp activities?

Urban Boot Camp assumes no responsibility for lost or stolen items. It is the responsibility of all clients to take reasonable and prudent care of their items by placing them into a locker provided by Urban Boot Camp. All clients are responsible for bringing a lock to place on the locker during participation in Urban Boot Camp activities. All locks will be removed from the lockers prior to leaving Urban Boot Camp or will be cut off by the staff at the end of the business day.
